How to Become a Member of the Church

BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH OF CHRIST
The Lord adds people to his church as they are saved by obeying the gospel — Acts 2:47; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9
Obedience to the gospel consists of:
- 1) Hearing the gospel — Romans 10:14-17
- 2) Believing the gospel — Mark 16:15-16
- 3) Repenting of past sins — Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; Acts 17:30
- 4) Confessing faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God — Acts 8:37; Matthew 10:32
- 5) Being baptized for the remission of your sins — Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16.
Having become a member of the Church of Christ, living a faithful Christian life is necessary — Romans 12:1-2; Revelation 2:17.
